Vogue published in their annual Best Dressed Issue a list of future style stars, fashion idols or style icons – you can name them as you want as long as you pay close attention to what they do. There are names that you probably never heard of but you will be impressed for sure. Also they name the Best Dressed star of 2012 and that is Emma Stone – she deserves it, she looks great in anything.
The new wave of style stars
She is a young actress that was nominated for Oscar in 2010 for her role in Winter’s Bone. Probably that doesn’t sound familiar at all, but this is not why she is always on the red carpet and this is not the reason she became Dior’s newest face. It’s the role of Katniss Everdeen from The Hunger Games blockbuster that sky-rocketed her career this year. She has been seen dressed in Viktor & Rolf or Prabal Gurung amongst others, so she deserves the place in Vogue’s top. We will see a lot of her in the years to come both on the screen (as there will be two more Hunger Games) and on the red carpet.
She became a star this year with her “212” hit – even if you don’t know the song, you must know her cool video of it! Her favorite outfit it’s a Mickey Mouse sweater, denim cutoffs and swinging pigtails. Or we should say “was”, as this 21-year old girl born in Harlem is now the star of Alexander Wang’s latest video campaign. And that is not all: she was his date at the 2012 Met ball. The future is looking bright for her.
She is on the fast track. After her great role in Martha Marcy May Marlene everyone labeled her as one to watch. So did Karl Lagerfeld who invited her to Chanel’s couture show. And he did in person which is a lot for a 23-year-old girl just making her entrance in this world. She is a fan of Faye Dunaway in Network or Diane Keaton as Annie Hall – she is a fan of effortless dressing and she looks great both in a velvet carmine pantsuit or in a Valentino dress which brought her here.
