Have your predictions about last night’s Golden Globes come true? Some of our bets did – we certainly had a night full of unexpected surprises: new names on the best dressed list and shocking names switched to the worst dressed list. One thing is certain – it was an important night for the big and little screen talents and enthusiasts; the start of the awards season for 2014.
Everyone has its favorite appearances on the red carpet at the Annual Golden Globe Awards 2014 that took place last night, Sunday, January 12. Here are our top choices.
Jennifer Lawrence – one of the night’s most awaited appearances – arrived at the Golden Globes dressed in her favorite designer. She stays faithful to Dior as usual and it seems this brings her luck. She looked gorgeous in the black and white Dior gown, accessorized with a Roger Vivier clutch and dark red lipstick.
Lupita Nyong’O did not disappoint us; she actually was one of the surprises of the night, wearing an unexpected Ralph Lauren dress. Bright red looked great on her, she was glowing and the cameras loved her.
Cate Blanchett added class and elegance to the night with her stunning appearance in a Giorgio Armani dress, accessorized with Chopard jewelry. She definitely raised to the expectations and, in our opinion, even exceeded them.
One of the biggest disappointments of the night and a definite shock was Sandra Bullock. Her hair and make up looked beautiful, but her dress didn’t. She wore a not-so-inspired Pabal Gurung gown, that sadly disrupted her series of stunning appearances. Taylor Swift wasn’t very inspired either, her Carolina Herrera gown was not really “Wow”.
Naomi Watts stepped confident on the red carpet, wearing a silver Tom Ford gown. She definitely knows how to make heads turn. Amy Adams remained faithful to style and fashion and showed up in a gorgeous Valentino red gown.
Unlike any other edition, this year’s Golden Globes was full of baby bumps. Olivia Wilde looked incredible in a green sequin gown signed by Gucci. Pregnancy looks good on her and so does on Kerry Washington and Drew Barrymore. Unfortunately, they were not so inspired with their fashion choices.
Kaley Cuoco, the newly wed, looked great in a Rani Zakhem couture gown and Jimmy Choo shoes. Margot Robbie stayed simple and classy and totally scored an A in her white Gucci gown. Helen Mirren did not show her age in the mint embroidered Jenny Packham gown.
Sarah Paulson was a graceful appearance once again, this time wearing a silver Marchesa gown and Louboutin sandals. Kate Beckinsale is right by her side in out best dressed top, in her metallic Zuhair Murad gown. Mila Kunis was part of the same color spectrum, and she looked lovely in her grey metallic Gucci gown. Julianna Margulies looked confident in her black and gold Andrew Gn gown.
The gentlemen looked dandy last night. Top of the list was also the big winner of the night – Leonardo DiCaprio. He stayed classic and elegant in a Giorgio Armani tuxedo. Matthew McConaughey chose an unexpected look for the night, as he did lately on the red carpet, wearing a green velvet D&G tuxedo. Bradley Cooper looked great in a Tom Ford tuxedo; don’t know if it was the outfit or the new haircut though. 🙂
